Downhill skiing, cowboy hats and Montana are a few things we learnt about our next interviewee. This Professional Triathlete is more than meets the eye. Please take a moment to learn more about: Linsey Corbin
We met up with Linsey at the 2010 Avia Wildflower Triathlon. When asked about her Wildflower experience Linsey had nothing but great things to say about this race. "I love this race, it is one of my favorite if not my favorite race. In 2006 I was 1st amateur."
Just because Linsey Corbin wears a cowboy hat across the finish line does mean is all country. Montana maybe where she calls home now but Corbin was not born and raised there. "I was born in California and raised in Bend, Oregon. The cowboy hat at the finish line is something fun I started to do with a friend. It's all about having fun."
Linsey excelled in many sports as a child and believe it or not see almost made skiing a career. "I used to race competitively. I also used to run cross country." I guess it would be safe to say skiing and running really helped strengthen your legs for triathlon. "That maybe an accurate assessment."
Corbin has had great success on hilly racecourses. She has come in 7th at Coeur D'Alene, 5th at Lake Placid, 5th & 2nd at Arizona and her best performance in Kona came in 2008 where Corbin placed 5th. "I enjoy climbing big hills, it is the way I like race."
