USAT Cycling Conduct: Accidents.

This rule is all about safety and requires cyclists to slow down to a safe speed when passing the site of an accident. Any cyclists who fail to slow down or, in the

opinion of the officials or rescue personnel, ignore the warnings to pass the site safely, will be disqualified.

Here’s the rule: 

5.6. Accidents.
All participants shall exercise extreme caution and shall decrease speed if necessary in passing the site of any cycling accident. Any violation of this section shall result in disqualification.
